Here are a few blogs off the top of my head that do extremely well (there are 1000's more):

techcrunch.com: excess of $200,000 per month in paid advertising (mostly banners, that's it.)

boingboing.net: $1 million per year

dooce.com: $40,000 a month in advertising. Dooce.com has rec'd multiple website awards. Its now pregnant-stay-at-home mom-owner started the blog way back in 2005 complaining about her "ogre" boss and previous colleagues in her work as a web designer in California. (Apparently this woman doesn't play well with other kids!) She didn’t know at the time that her personal blog would become an extremely heathy part of the family income......(Ya think?....)

problogger.net: $100,000 per year

mashable.com: $166,000 estimated monthly
